This just in from our friends in Australia:

‘Help people in their own countries’

The National Anarchists Australia/New Zealand are proud to announces that, from May to June, 2008, National-Anarchists will be undertaking a self-guided tour of South East Asia. The cost of the tour will be $3000 per person, including flights and accommodation, for a four-week tour, and will have to be paid by the individual.

On this tour, we will be respectfully visiting historical sites, places of special interest as well as the countryside. Special emphasis will be placed, however, on visiting the native tribes living in remote areas, with the intent of living with them and volunteering to help them build dams, dikes, ponds, houses, in their communities.

Why? Firstly, the native peoples of South East Asia are living in accord with National-Anarchist and Anarcho-Primitivist principles. They are self-sufficient, communitarian, isolated from the corrupting effects of civilisation and the capitalist economy (compared to Western society), and live a simple, agrarian lifestyle in a pristine, beautiful environment. This is a model that nationalists can learn from, and certainly National-Anarchists should want to apply any lessons learned to the West.

Secondly, National-Anarchists believe in helping the peoples of the Third World – in their own countries. Hmong people, for example, have emigrated to America, a society removed, geographically and spiritually, from the Hmong lands and traditions; that emigration has caused problems for the American Hmongs and the Anglo-American population alike. One means of avoiding the suffering caused by emigration from the Third World, to both the immigrant and the indigenous Western population, is to help the Third World in their own countries. Nationalists should feel obliged to help, in their own small way, and not rely on the Western NGOs and foreign aid from Western governments to improve the lot of the peoples of the Third World, so as to prevent Third World immigration.

Not only will you see some wonderful places, but you will experience the traditional lifestyle of the native peoples in their homelands. This is not a Contiki tour where staged fun is endlessly regurgitated for the average brain dead consumer-orientated Western tourist, but a hands on – once in a lifetime opportunity and experience.

This is direct action as only National Anarchism can deliver.

A recent blog post by "Celtic Anarchy" presented a mishmash of confused ideas on one web page that the BANA network is delighted to respond to. 

UPDATE: It turns out that Mr. Celtic Anarchy isn't Celtic at all but Californian!

The beginning of his ponderous diatribe finally gets around to his premise in the best act of racism a white man can try to get away with: denying race exists.  He states: "First of all we are totally opposed to the concept of Race itself, let along Racism which seeks to use the fiction of Race to separate people." 

African-American studies on "whiteness" and white privilege have analyzed this proposition at length as it is quite commonly made in this day and age.  Often followed with rejoinders of "I have many non white friends" or "I am not racist," the color blind white person is actually in denial of their racism by effectively washing their hands of it.  The interested reader can explore this subject further as there is literally a library of books that have been written about this subject.  Far from being fictional, race has been recently yet again to be scientifically true concept with the help of modern genetic research.

Mr. Celtic Anarchy goes on to describe that he is not a nationalist as, "we are not nationalists, never have been, never will be. The key defining feature of Nationalism is the belief that in one way or another the Nation - that is to say the ethno//cultural//linguistic group, should be the primary political unit in society."

Yeah the strange concept of everyone in ones country speaking the same language must be far removed from this poor lad.  As opposed to people making up organic "political units" in the world, Mr. Celtic Anarchy would rather it be inorganic, or perhaps mechanical such as the socialist world view.  A couple things can be certain of Mr. Celtic Anarchy, he gets along just dandy with people that don't speak his language at McDonalds, it would mean nothing to him if his hometown went from being Irish to Sudanese within a year, and would happily replace his culture with some other one since they seem to be "equal" in his eyes.  Perhaps he will start learning a new language so he can apply for a job down the street.  Perhaps but likely, by all appearances, Mr. Celtic Anarchy lives in a very white section of Ireland.

Moving on, "So-called National-Anarchists want to do that by creating a ‘nation’ composed of racially and culturally homogeneous communities; destroying the diverse and explosively creative fusion of cultures that is the basis of everything from..." I'll save you from the rest.  The flight from logic this boy jumps through to prove his point is amazing.  From nations that were at one time homogeneous going into state mandated diversity at the expense of one for the government mandated benefit of another has created and only created one kind of "explosive" situation which (unless the breakup of Yugoslavia seems appealing) is stridently resisted by progressive minded radicals.

"Personally, I can think of very few things that would be worse for humanity - cultures have always blended at the borders...

[editors note: borders would be indicative of national protection whereas having unlimited cultures "fuse" in ones back yard to the detriment of ones own society is the current situation in his homeland of Ireland]

"fusion is a fact of life, and that interchange between cultures is an essential ingredient in any recipe for real peace on a global scale."

Wow.  Thats a a great leap of the deep end, fuck history and the lessons of destroyed nationalities, lets make peace Cambodian style- wait, I mean... Bosnian... no wait, Kenyan... ahh no, Chinese in Tibet, spreading the love... 

You know I learned something new today, that theres a white Irish anarchist dude who wants to make real... peace... on a global scale.  The aspiration of it all is so, humbling.

"Learning to see the world through others eyes is the first step towards any meaningful understanding between peoples. and with thousands of cultures on one small planet we simply cannot afford to not understand each other."

I reckon it's because that understanding is best kept at a distance.  But enough with having making fun this is a serious endeavor of National Anarchist critique:

"One of the only things, in fact, that I can think of that would be as bad as (probably not worse, but equally horrific) then the National-Anarchist vision is the traditional anarchocommunists line, dating from Kropotkin on, that nations should be destroyed entirely right along with States and be supplanted by a single global culture, a single global language."

Wait a minute, now he starts sounding like a nationalist.  What, globalism isn't just the best thing ever for world peace?

"The cold hard fact is that the Nation-State is a myth." You're right Mr. Celtic Anarchist, a very powerful myth that leads men and women to sacrifice and die for more often than your global diversity love fest.  In fact it is the National Anarchist principal that myths are an essential feature of the human condition.  The desire and need to find meaning in a collective will is hard wired into our being.  You can be either opposed to or against "in principal" your own cultural and ethical independence,  it is your own free will to choose the role you play in life, but doing so will only put you at the service of others who want to usurp your nationalities place.  This is true now and it will be true throughout the conceivable future of humankind.

"I’m looking for an anarchism where all states are abolished, where communities are self-governing at the local level, and where ties of mutual aid and solidarity bind together a global community of communities based on diversity and mutual respect."

Diversity of opinions is one thing Mr. Celtic Anarchy, diversity of nations is something else.  State mandated diversity should be suspect by a man such as yourself that is critical to other ideologies such as the globalists and the anarcho-communists.  Why it is not suspect is because you have been outmaneuvered by the ruling class to outflank the working class in it's attempt at social justice by dividing the nation along ethnic, cultural, and religious lines, whereby the fractures that result dilutes resistance to the State and capitalism as the party that  keeps importing cheap laborers wins every election.  Continue to be fooled by the mainstream media and the political correctness police to your own disservice.

With the rest of your social goals, National Anarchists are on your side whither you like that fact or not. 

"An anarchism where State borders and boundaries that currently forcibly separate people are erased but where no Nation ever again has the ability - or even a real motive - to move in and wipe out another, and where attempts by larger ethno-linguistic groups to repress the rights of minorities to be themselves are met with swift fury and withdrawals of mutual aid and support from everyone else in the global community of communities.  An Anarchism where strength in diversity is the norm - not just an empty cliche in the mouths of liberals who see nothing wrong with imposing their own values on everyone else around them."

Those statements surprised even me, you're a National Anarchist but you just don't know it yet.
